Suzuki’s Boulevard lineup may be admired because of models such as the C109R or M109R, but until you get to those, the S40 is most likely to be your dearest friend, especially if you’re a short person or a girl. We have recently reviewed Suzuki’s 2009 offering and came to the overall conclusion that any of the manufacturer’s bikes qualify among the third best in their class. And this video we’ve just came across, although doesn’t mention anything about the competition, shows the most representative beasts of the sport and cruiser lineup in their natural environments which motivates us to share it with you. Ducati has long been planning to replace the Multistrada 1100 go anywhere, do anything bike and by what this spy picture shows, this is the model that will substitute Pierre Terblanche’s creation.
The bike was spotted during tests in Italy and it seems that Ducati is close to giving a green light for the new model. By what we’re able to see in the picture, the sport tires and a thick single-sided swingarm will keep it on the streets and – if it is to listen to the rumors – it will very much belong there.
No wonder, as insiders “leak” that the Multistrada replacement will feature the 1099cc engine that currently powers the Ducati 1098.Just to spice things up, I’ll mention that the DTC traction control won’t be excluded, but that’s all we know for now.
Fans are eagerly waiting to see this bike at the Milan show in November and, later, in their garages as 2010 model years.

Honda has planned nine cars and three motorcycles for the 2009 Tokyo Auto Salon scheduled to kick off on January 11. While the four-wheeled machineries aren’t of our interest, the bikes are.
Surprisingly, Honda won’t bring the best of each lineup, but an economical cruiser – the Shadow Classic 400 – as well as a scooter – the Forza X. Still, they show off with the Black and White 2009 CBR 1000RR so that evens up the scale pretty nicely.
While the Boulevard S83 doesn’t carry on as a 2009 model year, Suzuki is keen on their smaller model, the Boulevard S50 which proved very successful during its decades-long life and shows no signs of weakness despite the fact that the Japanese manufacturer doesn’t work its magic on it for 2009. Fuel injection isn’t considered necessary so all there is new to enjoy at the Suzuki Boulevard S50 is a color scheme. > More
As the pictures show, the Slidescooter isn’t what you might call a technology marvel, but a simple and innovative mean to have fun and even commute if necessary. Based on the idea that no road should be
unpracticable during winter and no beach left unexplored during summer, the Slidescooter features a bolt on front ski and 300 screws in the rear tire, but apart from that it is a regular 50cc scooter.
In fact, RiminiMoto’s product can be fitted on all regular scooters and the fact that you can simply spend $650 on a kit and revive the old two-stroke beastie is what makes it so great.
The ski that makes it suitable for winter riding is called a front track and there are six different ones available so that you can choose the one that suits your riding style best. Furthermore, the professionals are in for an all-carbon version.
Already caught up by the idea? That means you’re definitely a scooter guy so I shouldn’t mention that we recommend fitting an aftermarket silencer as well in order to squeeze a precious horse, maximum two, out of the small engine because you’ve most likely already done that, but I’ve said it anyway.
The Italians behind this project have also made a video in order to promote their Slidescooters, but I reckon these things have no problems in promoting themselves.
Suzuki may have carried on producing their big boy models without any changes apart from the ones involving color schemes, but the C50 series is the exception to the rule. We barely got time to realize that another year has passed by and there’s another concept trike showing us how it may very likely be the thing we’ll ride or better said drive in the future. But if it’s still here, at least let’s welcome it as should. Ladies and gentleman, I present to you the Hawk!
The design belongs to 22-year-old Alex Hodge, a designer based in New Zeeland. The young man has imagined the trike of the future as a machine powered preferably by a powerful motorcycle engine, but which would protect the user with a cockpit-like covering that swings away to allow the entry and exit to and from the vehicle.
With an alloy chassis and 19-inch alloy wheels, we already know that the thing would be light and stable, but how does it do in the performance department? Well, it seems that this designer also thinks at fuel consumption so he visualizes Hawk concept as being powered by the 999cc V-Twin engine “borrowed” from the Honda RC51 motorcycle. Now that’s pretty good considering that the specific powerplant meets a great balance between power – 120 horses – and fuel consumption which depends on how much the trike will actually weigh.
We have to admit that it looks radical, but I can’t see why he didn’t sketch a fully-equipped pilot in it. After all, what’s the point of all that transparency if you can’t be spotted when riding in style? And don’t come to me with that “view” stuff because you can see the view as you’re watching where you’re going.
Classic cruisers are less likely to go out of fashion and implicit out of production as long as there are enough guys that prefer classic jeans, leather jackets and helmets instead of leather interiors and fancy onboard computers. That’s what Suzuki reckons and some of the best proofs of this fact are the 2009 Boulevard C90 and C90T models which keep on going in the style that consecrated the VL 1500 Intruder more than a decade ago. > More
322 feet, 7 1/2 inches. This is the new world record for a motorcycle jump and it was established by Robbie Madison at the Rio hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada on New Year’s Eve. Performing on a Honda CR500, the daredevil and freestyle rider had to face 10-12 mph headwind and still made it all look so easy.
Afterwards, Maddison dedicated the jump to Evel Knievel and mentioned, "It was just such a shame [Knievel] wasn’t here to see the jump as he has always said it couldn’t be done." Furthermore, it incited his audience with a next world record by adding, "I know I can go further than tonight. I wasn’t going to show my full hand before March 29."
We can only wait for the event on the announced date to see if that is possible, but I believe we got a great preview to work with until then.
