2008 Ducati Hypermotard 1100S Review Between its duck bill nose, mirrors that fold in and out, and top shelf components like Öhlins suspension and Brembo monoblocs, the air-cooled, L-twin-powered Ducati Hypermotard 1100S is a unique beast in the two-wheeled world.

I've got a Ducati Hypermotard 1100S Photo Gallery here, and a review coming soon.

Review: 2008 Suzuki GSX650F

Monday January 5, 2009
2008 Suzuki GSX650F Review Why is the first motorcycle review of 2009 an '08 model? Funny you should ask; I was fortunate enough to have tested so many bikes in 2008 that I couldn't write them all up before year's end.

The Suzuki GSX650F, in my opinion, felt like the perfect motorcycle for somebody who wants a mean-looking bike that's not a mean ride. Think of it as a kindred spirit to the ever-popular Kawasaki Ninja 250R, only heavier and more powerful.

One of our 10 Great Beginner Motorcycles (which almost made it to our list of 10 Great Advanced Beginner Bikes, thanks to its 656 cc inline-4 engine), the GSX650F occupies a unique niche in the entry level bike market. To find out why, read my 2008 Suzuki GSX650F Review.

2008 Suzuki GSX650F Pop quiz: Which motorcycle do these headlights belong to? OK, if you cheated and looked at the headline, you know this is a Suzuki GSX650F, one of our 10 Great Beginner Motorcycles... though it might easily be confused with the nose of the much less beginner-friendly GSX-R600.

And the similarities don't end there; the GSX650F's profile, instrumentation, and bodywork resemble the more aggressive Gixxer's. Don't believe me? Take a look at our 2008 Suzuki GSX650F Photo Gallery for a closer look.

Red Bull's Robbie Maddison Goes Airborne Again for New Year's Eve Stunt

Wednesday December 31, 2008
Red Bull's Robbie Maddison Jumping a motorcycle When they're not churning out caffeine and taurine-laden energy drinks, Red Bull fuels ventures like their so-called 'Experiments,' among them Robbie Maddison's 322+ foot motorcycle jump and Ronnie Renner's world record-breaking quarterpipe air on a KTM.

Continuing their wild ways, Red Bull's organized two acts of insanity for New Year's Eve: Rhys Millen will attempt at the world's first successful backflip in a truck (a botched practice session left him with a broken back, but he's since recovered), and Robbie Maddison will leap over 100 feet onto the Arc de Triomphe at Paris Las Vegas before he-- in the words of one Red Bull exec-- "grabs a ton of brake." To see a close call of Maddo's practice session, check out this YouTube clip.

90 minutes of Red Bull's New Year. No Limits. madness begins tonight (New Year's Eve) on ESPN at 8:00 PM Pacific / 11:00 PM Eastern, right after the Chick-fil-a Bowl.
